weeks.
First, the Senior Room travelled to Newtown
primary school to play a friendly football match.
After the match we were treated to lovely
refreshments and biscuits.
The Senior Room started our new novel “The Star
of Kazan”. We are really enjoying it.
The junior room explored the theme of Hallowe`en in Aistear.
As a school we participated in The Credit Union
Art Competition the theme was “It’s a Wonderful
World”.
Some Secondary schools came to speak with the
6th class about what their schools had to offer, it
was very interesting!
We made vegetable soup as a school using
carrots, red onion, leek, butternut squash, sweet
potatoes, parsnips, chicken stock cubes and of
course some water. The Junior Room made butter
by shaking double cream in a jar until it turned
into butter. We had the soup with some brown
bread with the homemade butter, it was
delicious!
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd class had a blitz in Killenaule on
the 18th of October.
We had a clothes collection and the Senior Room
made a human chain to the lorry. The school got
€143.
This week the Senior Room took part in Cross
Country athletics in Marlfield. In the 3rd and 4th
class girls race Judy O’Donnell came 2nd, the 5th
and 6th class girls race Robyn O’Reilly came 2nd and
in the 5th and 6th class boys race Cathal
O’Sullivan came 1st.
For Maths Week, all pupils participated in
Izac 9 cubes. We also played some fun maths board
games.
All and all we have had a wonderful term and can`t
wait for the break!
