On the 21st November we had the Lismore mobile scientists in our school. All children participated in a Science Workshop.

The Senior Room was transformed into a crime scene as the children had to use evidence to solve a crime. They engaged in chromatography experiments, extracted their DNA and investigated fingerprints.

With the Lismore mobile scientists the Junior Room explored survival in the Antarctic. They learned how some animals use blubber to keep themselves warm in cold climates.

They also made snowstorms in a jar. All the children really enjoyed the hands on activities and learning.

On Friday 18th October the school took a field trip to Clonmel. The Senior room visited the South Tipperary Arts Centre to view the Inktober exhibition and take part in some looking and responding activities.

The whole school attended the Museum on the Move exhibition at the Clonmel Museum where they learned all about animals that lived in Ireland during ice age times and those that continue to exist today.

The children thoroughly enjoyed their day out, with the Museum in particular being a big hit.
