Senior room school tour

On Tuesday 18th June, the Senior Room went on their school tour to Spike Island in Cork.

The trip consisted of a tour of the island to learn about its rich history, visiting the island's prison and museum, and taking part in a fantastic obstacle course where the pupils had to utilise their skills helping each other out as they carried a life-sized mannequin to the finish line.

The children had great fun taking the ferry over and back to the island and of course availing of the gift shop! And as you can see, one or two may have nodded off on the way home...

On Tuesday 18th June, the Senior Room took to the town with local archaeologist Julia Walsh to participate in an historic photographic treasure hunt of Clonmel.

Many thanks to Julia for being our guide and giving us a truly interesting and informative experience.

Hitting Rock Bottom!

The Killurney NS Summer Show took place on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th of last week to a full house at both the matinee and evening performances.

'Rock Bottom' took its audience on a crazy time-travel adventure back to the Stone Age with dinosaurs, eggheads, growlers and the evil Lady Lava!

A huge well done to all the pupils who worked so hard over the months in the run up to the show, and of course to our brilliant director and drama teacher Gillian.

On Friday 14th June, the Junior Room travelled to Rathwood in Carlow for their end-of-year school trip. All the pupils took part in the Teddy Bear Picnic Event for the day which involved meeting Goldilocks and the Three Bears!

The children had the opportunity to visit the Teddy Bear Factory to make their own bear, take a ride on the Rathwood Express train and enjoy a picnic followed by playtime in the new indoor play area.

A lot of fun was had by all and it was lovely for the children to come home with a gorgeous souvenir from their visit - a cuddly teddy bear.

The Killurney NS Race Night Fundraiser took place on Friday 31st May at the Clonmel Greyhound Stadium.

The night was a huge success and great fun, and we are delighted to announce that over a whopping €10,000 was raised!! These funds will now go towards upgrading the school's digital platform and infrastructure, as well as supplementing the Arts, Sports and Music curriculum.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone for all their hard work and tireless efforts in fund raising, and a special thanks to the Parents Association for organising and facilitating the night.
