On Wednesday 1st of May I was full of excitement because I remembered we were going to a small schools blitz in Dr. Morris Park, Thurles. We had to be in school by 9:10 at the latest because we were leaving at 9:30. Once we got there, they lined us up in our class groups and separated us for hurling and football based on our preferred sport. They mixed us up with pupils from other schools to get to know each other. We played 4 matches with 10 minutes a side. My group won 3 and lost 1. It was very enjoyable. The infants played on the astro turf to practice their skills and kicking. When everything was over, we went back to where we left our bags to have lunch. After lunch we walked over to Semple Stadium. Firstly, when we went in, they gave us a tour of the dressing rooms. It was interesting seeing where all the players sat to get ready for a match. We then got to run out the tunnel and got our photo taken at that point. Then we ran up the pitch and went to the stand where the winning teams of finals lift the cups after the game. We came back to school and did Maths for the last while before going home. My favourite part of the day was when we ran out of the tunnel. That was very exciting! The matches were very fun but I also enjoyed going up to the podium.
