The Junior room started the year with two new art projects, Picasso self-portraits and splatter painting trees which they made using toothbrushes. They also went on a bear hunt in their classroom (no bears were harmed in the hunt). The first and second class wrote a digital book in Irish which they called “An Timpiste”. They made their digital book using the book creator app.
The senior room started two art projects, Cats and Timelines. The senior room has already finished two novels called “Shadow” and “Escape from Shangri-La”. “Escape from Shangri-La” is about a girl and her long-lost grandfather who appears one day. He comes looking for his son that he hasn’t seen for years. The grandfather loses his memory, and the girl has to try and help him gain his memory back. “Shadow” is about a boy that finds a dog and calls it Shadow because it follows him everywhere like a shadow. The Taliban has taken over his country, so the boy and his mother flee the country to England. Both books were good.
The school has also started back with Gillian doing Music lessons every Wednesday.
Thursday the 26th of September was SNA Appreciation Day. So, we surprised our SNA Miss Holohan by spelling out “Thank you Miss Holohan” in paper letters and gifting her a bouquet of flowers.
On Thursday the 30th of September eleven students took part in a cross-country race in Carrick. Well done to all the participants!
